What is Hoboken Mutzfest?
Mutzfest is a special Sunday in Hoboken in which the best Mutzmakers from Hoboken
(+ one guest from Lyndhurst) gather as part of a community celebration of people, small business, and mozzarella!
How did Hoboken Mutzfest start?
Mutzfest began in January 2013 as a means to help raise money for Hoboken Bike Camp. HFA hosted the first Hoboken Bike Camp in June of 2012. Our special needs director, Theresa Howard, needed to find a way to cover the expense for the next camp in June 2013. One morning running along the Hudson she thought: everyone in Hoboken says they have the best mutz. But who really does? The first three years of Hoboken Mutzfest was a competition. Then we shifted gears and made it a celebration of our city’s best mutz!
What time do I arrive?
VIP section opens at 12pm. GA opens at 1pm.
What is the difference between VIP and GA?
VIP tickets include early access, drinks, a dedicated food station + generous tastings from our Mutzmakers, and a cool Mutzfest Swag Bag. All tickets include generous tastings from our Mutzmakers, live music from Rostafa, participating/observing cannoli eating contest, the Sinatra singalong, and a first for 2025 – a giant sing-a-long with the whole crowd!
Can I stay for the whole time?
Yes, your ticket provides access for the duration of the event. Some people stay for the entire time. Some stop in for an hour or two. Some people don’t want to leave. But if you do leave, there is no re-entry.
Where is the entry?
Entry for General Admission is smack in the middle of 14/Grand at the 14th St. Viaduct Park. Entry for VIP is at the northeast corner of 14/Adams (near BWE Uptown).
Where should I park?
Well, you know it’s in Hoboken and parking is tough. We suggest mass transit where possible, walk or if you drive, park in a lot. The closest is Park & Garden at 1450 Garden. St.
I have my ticket, what do I need to prepare for entry?
Have your phone charged and your QR code ready so we can scan you quickly and you get in the door.
Are tickets available at the door?
Sometimes, maybe. But it’s uncertain. Same-day tickets for Mutzfest depend on capacity, attendance, food availability, and weather. It’s a sell-out event, so while same-day sales may happen, they’re not guaranteed. The only way to find out is to show up and wait and see in person, on the Wait & See Line – or buy your tickets early!
What is the Mutzfest Wait & See Line?
It’s not a waitlist because a waitlist suggests a guarantee that you’ll get in at some point. But since we really don’t know, the only way for non-ticket holders to find out is to wait and see on the day of the event. But there’s no guarantee. The Wait & See Line check-in is adjacent to the exercise equipment on 14/Grand.
What if I can no longer make it?
Mutzfest is a rain-or-shine event, with proceeds benefiting the Hoboken Bike Camp. While we can’t offer refunds, you’re welcome to notify us if you can’t attend as non-ticket holders may appreciate the opportunity. Thank you for your support!
Can I bring my adorable dog?
We love dogs as much as the next person but based on health codes, dogs and pets are not permitted. If your dog is a service dog, however, please arrive with the appropriate paperwork so we can accommodate you and your pooch.
How do I get drinks?
If you’re a GA ticket holder, please find one of our bar ticket tables and buy a drink ticket for $5 each. We take cash, card, and tap-to-pay! Then head over to the beer garden and grab your drinks!
What if I have mobility issues?
If you have mobility issues, please report directly to the check-in area. You and one of your guests will be allowed entry.
